Accountant

We’re looking for an amazing Accountant professional to fill this role. 

Overseeing the recording, analyzing and reporting of companies G&A and A&P expenses, and the timely and accurate preparation of the related balance sheet reconciliations. Position is responsible for probing period-end variances, and providing related variance explanations. Position to be filled by highly motivated individual who is devoted to accuracy, completeness and compliance. Must be able to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the company. Work will require persistent and effective follow-up. Individual will need to be detail oriented to ensure accuracy of work at all times.

This position will last for minimum of 4 months with a possible extension. 

Please note that this position can be 100% remote, preferably a candidate residing on the west coast. 

Responsibilities:

• Participates in month-end financial close activities including analysis for journal entry preparation, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Provide timely reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and supporting documentation with focus on operational efficiencies and GAAP compliance on a monthly basis.
• Monitors and processes workflows/systems to provide accurate and timely output, with focus on increased efficiencies and awareness of adequate controls. Makes recommendations for process improvement.
• Create new processes to improve financial efficiency
• Conduct variance analysis on relevant balance sheet and income statement accounts.
• Interact with both internal & external auditors and respond to requests in a timely manner.

• Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field is preferred
• Previous experience in accounting or other related fields
• Fundamental knowledge of GAAP
• Experience with Oracle is a plus
• Experience with current computer accounting programs and reporting tools
• Detail and deadline-oriented
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
