Job Opening: Medical Front Desk
Description
IMMEDIATE opening for a courteous and patient-focused Front Desk Receptionist. Will check patients in and out by verifying insurance, collecting payments, and maintaining patient records and accounts. Maintain patient flow, organize and maintain a welcoming front office.
- Prepare the clinic for opening each day by reviewing the facility, opening all systems applications, and preparing new patient registration packets and required documents
- Greet patients, provide patients with paperwork and obtain copies of insurance and identification cards
- Answer high-volume telephone lines
- Provide positive patient relations.
- Triage calls and direct callers to the correct departments
- Register patients, update patient records, verify insurance, check patients out
- Determine, collect, and process patient payments, address collection and billing issues
- Complete closing procedures by preparing discharge paperwork
- Maintain complete and accurate documentation
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
- 2+ years relevant work experience in a medical / healthcare environment
- Proficiency with computers
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment
- Good conflict de-escalation skills
- Flexibility with the changing healthcare environment
- Professional phone etiquette
- Friendly and professional demeanor
