Rapid Access II Coordinator (PRN Night Shift)
Position Title: Rapid Access II Coordinator (PRN – Night Shift)
Location: Knoxville, TN (Onsite)
Schedule:
• PRN Night Shift
• Typically 2 twelve-hour shifts + 2 eight-hour shifts per week
• Rotating weekends and holidays
• 24/7/365 operation
Pay Rate: Starting at $18/hour

Position Overview:
We are seeking a Rapid Access II Coordinator to support a high-volume Patient Transfer Center within a large healthcare system. This role plays a critical coordination function, managing incoming patient transfers from smaller facilities that require a higher level of care.You will act as the liaison between referring and accepting physicians, enter patient status orders, and initiate bed placement within the hospital system — all while working in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Process incoming patient transfer requests from external facilities
• Coordinate communication between referring and accepting physicians
• Enter patient status orders as directed by physicians
• Initiate and coordinate bed placement within receiving facilities
• Accurately document patient and transfer details in real time
• Maintain strict HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality
• Collaborate closely with clinical teams, nursing leadership, and physicians
• Operate efficiently under time-sensitive and high-pressure conditions
Required Qualifications:
? Active license required (one of the following):
• EMT
• Paramedic
• LPN
? Strong clinical understanding and medical terminology
? Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
? Excellent phone communication and documentation skills
? Comfortable working nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in patient transfer centers, ER, EMS, or acute care settings
• Prior experience coordinating care across multiple facilities
• Strong attention to detail and reliability
