Job Opening: Dental Hygienist
Description
Seeking a friendly, ethical, self-motivated Dental Hygienist to join a welcoming and friendly dental atmosphere. The customer-focused candidate will perform prophylaxis and/or periodontal scaling and examine oral, head, and neck for oral disease. Educate patients on oral hygiene, take and develop X-rays, or apply fluoride / sealants. Provide local anesthesia as needed for hygiene procedures or restorative treatment. Additionally:
• Record and review patient medical histories.
• Examine gums, using probes, to locate periodontal pockets and signs of gum disease.
• Clean calcareous deposits, accretions, and stains from teeth and beneath margins of gums.
• Utilize laser therapy in conjunction with Gingivitis and/or periodontal treatment.
• Feel and visually examine gums for sores and signs of disease.
• Chart conditions of decay and disease for diagnosis and treatment by dentist.
• Provide clinical services or health education to improve and maintain the oral health of patients.
• Apply fluorides or other cavity preventing agents to arrest dental decay.
• Administer local anesthetic agents.
• Remove excess cement from coronal surfaces of teeth.
• Remove sutures and dressings.
• Place and remove rubber dams, matrices, and temporary restorations.
• Make impressions for whitening trays.
• May be numbing hygienist and provide local anesthesia to all patients receiving restorative treatment.
• Position may be required to relocate to other clinics either permanently or on a short-term basis due to office needs, on an as needed basis at the discretion of Management.
• Complete other Administrative and Maintenance tasks as assigned by Management.
• Associate Applied Science Degree OR Bachelor of Science Degree in Dental Hygiene
• Current Dental Hygiene License Dental
• Current Local Anesthesia Certification
• CPR Certified
• Knowledge of all Microsoft Office products
• Knowledge Dental Software
