Human Resources Assistant Duties:

  • Responsible for both Corporate and Plant H.R. functions as described below:
  • Assist in conducting training for employees in the areas of H.R. Policies and procedures, Worker's Compensation, safety, employee relations, new employee orientation, and all other related areas.
  • Will assist supervisors and managers with job descriptions and specifications and will be responsible for the initial screening of new employee applicants.  Will place advertisements and will work with employment agencies, as necessary, to attract new applicants to fill vacancies as quickly as possible.
  • Will arrange for temporary employees to fill vacancies, as required.
  • Assist in new employee orientation and will arrange for any pre-employment screening that is necessary before employees report to work.  Responsible for all administrative documentation required for new employees.
  • Will conduct exit interviews and process termination documents and alert management to any potential issues causing the termination.
  • Counsel employees on various matters as they relate to policies and procedures, benefits, state and federal laws.
  • Provide all employees a responsible and confidential framework to discuss issues that they feel are preventing them from performing at their highest level.  Discuss these issues with the manager involved and monitor results.
  • Responsible for the accurate input and maintenance of the Human Resource Information System (HRIS) database.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of all documentation for Worker's compensation, and any other required by private, local, state, or federal agencies.
  • Coordinate company functions, as necessary.
  • Administer and process all aspects of the 401K program, under the supervision of the Plan Administrator, including new enrollments, distributions, loans, and annual census process.
  • Responsible for the accurate annual audits for the 401K program from outside auditors and the Worker's Compensation audit  performed from the current Worker's Comp. plan.
