Ideal candidate: Highly organized, able to operate efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment – able to switch gears quickly. Familiar with handling domestic and international travel arrangements. Skills: Type 50 wpm, 10-key, and operate standard office equipment (i.e. scanner, copier, printers) ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Assist VP Marine in preparing/editing of reports, memos, letters, presentations and correspondence as required. • Preparation of expense reports, invoice coding, ship & shore telephone and email lists, ship position schedule, and research as required. • Coordinates release of ashes with passengers and fleet. • Miscellaneous operational tasks for Marine Services which occur on a daily basis. • Book all flights, hotel and transfers for members of the Holland America Group Marine Services Department. • Book cabins for members of the Holland America Group Marine Services Department, Fleet Captains, Fleet Chief Engineers, surveyors and contractors as required. • Research inventory and book any cabins required by the Fleet for trainee pilots as they are advised. QUALIFICATIONS: • Some college experience - preferred. • Microsoft Applications (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Visio), Adobe Acrobat, Internet Navigation and standard Windows operating tools. Lotus Notes, Markview, SVAM and POLAR a plus. • Ability: Perform a variety of administrative support tasks and able to keep sensitive communications with ultimate discretion. • Ability to prioritize multiple projects in order to meet targeted objectives and work with minimal supervision
