Job Summary: Supporting Fleet Operations in remediation of ships to meet ADA standards, the Access Database Specialist will develop and administer an Access database for collecting ship survey data. The database will be used to import data from Excel survey reports prepared by an outside auditor. The Specialist will be responsible for creating an Access database that allows for managing such business related activities as purchasing, budgeting, ordering materials as well as providing visibility into overall project status. Necessary Skills: • Expert knowledge of current and previous versions of MS Office Access systems • Expert knowledge of database design, information management, database integration • Results-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities and excellent communication • Advanced computer skills and knowledge of the entire MS Office suite of applications, with good working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet programs Education and background: • Associate's, bachelor's, or master's degree in computer science or information systems • Extensive experience with MS Office Access systems and database design, development, and administration • Microsoft Certified Application Specialist (MCAS) or Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certification, preferred
