Director of Channel Sales

My client in the cloud computing software and consulting space is looking for a Director of Channel Sales. The selected applicant will manage and grow the channel sales group with a focus on existing company software and then, over time, selling new offerings as well. 

The primary responsibility will be to meet and exceed sales targets, working with channel partners as well as cloud service providers such as Google and Amazon, etc.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that strategies are developed to meet sales targets
  • Manage, mentor and grow sales team
  • Development of team commission plan
  • Maintain relationships with key customers and channel partners
  • Maintain and grow relationships with cloud service provider sales leadership team and with executives in partner organizations
  • Build on and improve, or replace existing processes to ensure success
  • Develop strategies to reduce sales cycle and customer acquisition costs
  • Liaise with software and services teams to improve the customer experience
  • Focus on continuous improvement

Requirements

  • Experience with cloud computing, public and private, and have the ability to articulate the benefits to customers and partners
  • Experience with successful change management
  • Demonstrated experience in growing and managing channel software sales teams
  • Demonstrated experience in an enterprise sales environment, across software and services.
  • Inspirational sales leadership
  • Knowledge of multiple sales approaches
  • Comfort with analytics to measure your teams performance
  • Customer focused
  • Ability to work independently
  • Cloud sales experience highly desirable; or software sales with systems integrators
