Long term career opportunity for a Senior Accountant. Reporting to our Director of Accounting and Finance, the role of the successful candidate will supervising the fiduciary responsibility of the Accounting Department to ensure timely and accurate posting of all transactions, identify opportunities for improvement and automation, take initiative to implement the same, and assist in special projects, audits, financial analyses, budgeting and reporting.
? Supervising staff in the Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Inventory, Credit & Collections, Sales Tax and General Ledger functions, as needed.
? Implementation of projects to improve accounting procedures and processes
? Annual operating expense budgets and the monthly analyses of the same
? Conduct analyses of freight expense, control of other expense categories, and develop and establish proper procedures where needed
? Continually add value through cost savings, improved controls and efficiencies
? Serve as system expert for the accounting modules of the ERP system
? Serve as a mentor to the accounting team ? Develop and maintain documentation of accounting policies and procedures
? Prepare reports, schedules, analyses, and provide documentation in support of audit requirements
? Upon successful completion of above, other accounting, reporting and analytical responsibilities will be added
? Minimum of 5 years’ experience, including time in a supervisory role.
? Some public accounting/auditing experience, and CPA, preferred, but not required.
? BS degree in Accounting a must.
? Experience in a dynamic and growing business environment.
? Experience in reviewing/implementing internal controls and/or SOX experience, preferred.
? Experience in automating/improving processes and software upgrade/implementation experience a plus.
? Strong quantitative, analytical and interpersonal skills.
? Excellent computer proficiency with MS-Office
