Our client has an immediate need for a Senior Network Engineer.  This is a permanent, full time position working onsite at their Hamilton, NJ location.




Responsible for designing, building and supporting IT network services across the company through familiarity with standard IT concepts, practices, and procedures. In addition to possessing the requisite technical skills, the preferred candidate will have a track record of demonstrating initiative, team work and a ‘can-do’ attitude.  Within the scope of this position, contributes to the company’s overall mission to protect the rights and welfare of human subjects involved in clinical research.   




  • Manage and maintain networking equipment including firewalls, switches, load balancers, routers and wireless networks
  • Actively participate in cross functional process improvement teams, collaborating with other departments
  • Participate in on call duty and perform occasional after hours work as needed to support business needs; attend and participate in departmental meetings
  • Manage and maintain TCP/IP networks and working knowledge of protocols such as DNS, DHCP, OSPF, EGIRP
  • Experience performing advanced network troubleshooting using packet capture/analysis tools
  • Develop and implement network designs and solutions based on current reference architecture 
  • Ongoing monitoring, support and management of firewall rules and IDS/IPS subsystems
  • Create and maintain documentation including inventory information and network maps
  • Experience managing VoIP systems preferred
  • Interact and assist with managing vendors and partners
  • Work with server support staff to manage and maintain internal and external IP addressing and DNS
  • Configure and update network monitoring tools as needed, actively monitor the network to prevent issues and deliver services in compliance with SLAs
  • Work with other engineers and team members to evaluate and recommend improvement and growth of the infrastructure
  • Establish and maintains clear and timely communication with manager and team members
  • Maintain high level of professionalism when assisting users in person and via telephone

Job Requirements



  • 7+ years’ experience operating as a network engineer in an enterprise environment with responsibility for implementation, operation and support of network switches, routers, firewalls and wireless infrastructure
  • 7+ years’ experience maintaining network circuits including Internet, MPLS, sip trunks and PRIs
  • Excellent knowledge of routing protocols such as EIGRP, OSPF and BGP
  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement complex network solutions using industry standards and best practices
  • Experience in building and automating network monitoring and management solutions
  • Experience in configuring network monitoring to ensure availability SLAs are measured and managed
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Knowledge and experience operating in an ITIL environment 
  • Experience working in a regulated enterprise environment and comply with standard operating procedures


Required Technical Skills:


  • Configuration and management of Cisco and Meraki networking equipment including, switches routers, load balancers (F5) and firewalls (Nexus, IOS, ASA)
  • Proven ability supporting advanced monitoring tools including infrastructure and application layer monitoring
  • Proven record of managing WAN technologies including MPLS and Internet services
  • Working knowledge of Cisco UCS and/or FlexPod preferred
  • Working knowledge with SDN using Meraki or Talari preferred
  • Exposure to Palo Alto and Juniper
