Field Service Engineer – West Coast – Direct Hire


This RemX client is a global leader in Flow Measurement Technology. Their dramatic growth has created an opportunity for a West Coast Field Service Engineer based out of a home office and a corporate office in the East Bay with travel throughout the West Coast.


In this role, you will be responsible for the installation and support of Flow meters and Analytical products.  You will also provide training and application support to end users and technical sales reps, provide customer feedback to the product development teams, and participate in product development team meetings to ensure products are easily installed and meet the functional and performance needs of customers.

  • The ability to travel 70% as needed

  • Installation of instrumentation in various industrial environments, including: oil refineries, oil fields (including offshore), power plants, building basements, other manufacturing facilities
  • Use of instruments at job sites for survey purposes i.e. Temporary installation
  • Interface with customers and build long term business relationships
  • Interface with established network of sales representatives on a daily basis
  • Present product using PowerPoint in front of an audience of up to 30 people during product training
  • Provide customer service, application support and product training to end users and technical sales reps

Job Requirements

  • Technical Degree or experience in a technical environment
  • Experience in an Instrumentation and Controls environment are desirable but not required
  • Must have outstanding communication and inter-personal skills
  • Strong writing skills for generating field reports, support documents
  • Ability to climb ladders and work in small, elevated locations
  • Ability to work in very close proximity to heat sources and cold sources
  • Job will require extensive overnight travel in Western US and some limited travel to the East Coast
  • Overseas travel will be limited to a maximum of once every 2-3 years
  • Some weekend travel required. Total travel can be as much as 70% OVERALL, but sometimes a full week in the office is possible.
  • Must be willing to submit to random drug testing – critical
  • Must have good credit, both as part of background check and for booking and paying for travel.
  • Work-related travel expenses are 100% reimbursed bi-weekly.
