This is a contract to hire position.

Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm                        

Pay: $18.00 per hour

About the position:

The position of Marketing Assistant is to assist the Sales and Customer Service department in meeting the long-term and short-term needs of our customers with the goal of consistent business growth in the long term.

The primary focus of the Admin Assistant is to participate in the development and procurement of the appropriate materials needed to support a rapidly growing business.

The position will, necessarily, be called on for short-term needs as a backup to the Customer Service department.

The position will report to the VP of Sales & Marketing and will work closely with the Customer Service Supervisor and Sales Manager.


Qualified Candidate:

The ideal candidate will have completed a bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or similar field of study, or in the general field of business.  Marketing related experience may be considered as an alternative to a 4 year degree.

The ideal candidate should be capable of applying logical structure to unstructured problems.  They should be capable of working independently with little supervision, although they will have access to all Sales & Marketing personnel for discussion or consultation.

A working knowledge of MS Office is a must.  Additional experience with design software would be beneficial but most design work is performed by third-party vendors.

  • Prepare marketing and sales reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing sales data.
  • Participate in the implementation of marketing and advertising campaigns.
  • Plan & Coordinate trade shows and vendor shows.  Identifying, assembling, coordinating requirements; establishing contacts, developing schedules and assignments, coordinating mailing lists.
  • Coordinate and arrange meetings, prepare agendas, reserve and prepare facilities.
  • Keep and publish sales meeting minutes.
  • Make travel arrangements, coordinate schedules, arrange appointments, etc.
  • Track and monitor sales and marketing budgets.  Evaluate actual results versus projected results.
  • Assist in the design of sales materials including catalog, product selector, price books, show booths, A/V items, customer branded materials, and any other sales related materials.
  • Coordinate with vendor for printing/creating all sales related materials.  Manage inventory of sales collateral materials.
  • Process requests for samples, catalogs, and price lists/books.  Includes physical preparation of materials.
  • Create/update/maintain pricing lists/books.
  • Manage script for message on hold.
  • Manage mailing, fax, and email lists.
  • Process mailing, fax, and email jobs.
  • Compose routine correspondence including letters, email, fax, and social media.
  • Assist as a backup in the following areas
    • Take inbound customer calls
    • Process customer orders
    • Document scanning
    • General customer service and office management
  • Occasional travel for trade shows.
