RemX is hiring a Project Accountant for one of our top notch clients in Downtown Dallas! APPLY TODAY!!  This position provides support on all financial aspects of projects and works collaboratively to advance the office’s financial goals, initiatives, and processes. Duties include tracking contract approvals, additional service fees, labor accrual, global revenue recognition and acting as a liaison between project managers, leadership, accounting, consultants, and clients.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manages proposal and contract review forms, processes and procedures
  • Evaluates processes and procedures to identify improvement opportunities to help the firm reach financial goals
  • Gathers and creates necessary documentation for new project set-up
  • Partners with project managers in creating work plan, contract fee preparation and collection of contract approvals
  • Assists project managers in monitoring project scope changes and additional service fee opportunities
  • Works with controller to review monthly revenue recognition
  • Anticipates, identifies and resolves project cost issues
  • Maintains real time project financial information for project managers
  • Provides ongoing project reporting, cost analysis and historical data trends
  • Prepares weekly/monthly/annual fee and staff scheduling projections
  • Reviews and reconciles project charges, consultant invoices and project resourcing
  • Facilitates monthly invoicing and resolution of accounts receivable issues
  • Assists project managers and leadership with the development of fee allocations and annual budgets
  • Works with accounting to ensure approved fees are reconciled and allocated correctly in Deltek Vision.
  • Facilitates project close-out with accounting and project manager
  • Communicates scope of service terms from master service agreement/base contract with design team and knows when to request an additional service fee
  • Assists project managers with work plan/proposals, contract fee preparation and collection of contract approvals
  • Assists project managers in monitoring project changes and add service fee opportunities
  • Reviews project charges, consultant invoices and project resourcing
  • Works with accounting to ensure approved fees are updated and allocated in accounting software

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business Administration or related field
  • 4+ years of related accounting/finance position experience
  • Previous experience in architectural, construction, or engineering management field preferred
  • Proficient in basic math skills, excellent attention to detail and ability to complete tasks with accuracy
  • Understanding of Scope of Services contracts preferred
  • Understanding of accounting basics preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
  • Intermediate level experience with Microsoft Office programs, specifically with Excel and Word
  • Experience with Deltek Vision preferred
  • Strong critical thinking and organizational skills
