Medical Record Specialist

Our client is a total solutions partner for healthcare data auditing and analytics. They provide end-to-end solutions to help improve payment integrity data to support accreditation programs and to meet regulatory requirements. 

Position Description

The Medical Record Specialist will be responsible for reviewing medical records, identifying, reclassifying and abstracting vital healthcare information to be used by medical coders for risk adjustment.

Responsibilities

  • Review and split medical charts based on pre-defined criteria
  • Meet production goals and accuracy standards
  • Remain HIPPA compliant in the process of handling medical records

 

 

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Must have a working knowledge of basic medical terminology
  • Must be detail oriented
  • Must be proficient with Excel and other computer applications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Release of Information experience
  • Healthcare experience
  • Medical Billing and/or Coding knowledge
  • Medical Record Documentation knowledge
