RemX Irvine is recruiting for a Payroll Representative for our client located in Irvine.  This is a stable company that is growing and looking for someone who is detail oriented, reliable and committed to this role.  Temp or Temp to Hire Offering $21.00-$24.00p/hr.

Payroll Representative Duties:

  • Provide project support on specific initiatives which may involve compiling data, organizing, and reviewing metrics
  • Able to identify and rectify potential problems within specific projects, tracks all project information and makes sure everything is completed in a timely manner
  • Works closely with Payroll and “other” departments to identify and resolve compliance related issues
  • Assist with year-end regulatory compliance filings (W-2s, annual tax forms, etc.)
  • Assist with verifying compliance with federal and state payroll requirements
  • Assist with audits of internal records, workers compensation, tax filings and related documentation
  • Assist with documenting payroll processes and procedures
  • Assist with meeting all required deadlines (internal and external)
  • Assist with payroll tax return filings by complying with prescribed payroll regulations and collaborating with external service providers to resolve outstanding issues
  • Assist team with preparing and providing information for audits
  • Provide quality customer service by researching employee inquiries and providing resolution in an accurate, timely, thorough, helpful and respectful way
  • Assist with processing payroll adjustments as required to ensure compliance

Job Requirements

 Payroll Representative Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree with preference in business administration
  • 1– 3 years related payroll experience, preferably experience with large payroll operation (1000+ employees)
  • Demonstrate knowledge of all current federal and state wage and tax laws
  • Demonstrate mathematical, quantitative and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of payroll processing and terminology
  • Able to maintain confidential information
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the employees
  • Ability to work well in a team environment 
  • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, and presentation skills
  • Ability to operate independently while establishing strong working relationships with co-workers and cross-functional teams
  • Strong, professional and effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail and deadlines
  • Ability to adapt well to change in direction and priority in a fast- paced and deadline-oriented environment
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, and adapt to different HR/Payroll system applications
  • Strong telephone, written and verbal communication skills
