This is a fantastic, early to mid-career position with opportunity with career growth for someone interested in collaboratively working upstream (CEO, HR Leader, and HRIS/Operations Supervisor) to value stream map Human Resources Informations Systems and compensation, while also working downstream with the Accounting Team, insuring proper ledger and booking. 

Payroll Specialist Job Description:

  • Responsible for the preparation and processing of all payroll cycles for multiple companies in multi-state jurisdiction
  • Act as liaison between business process owners and technical vendor support for Ascentis HRIS and ADP Payroll
  • Responsible for the preparation and processing of all Ascentis Human Resources Information Systems for multiple companies in a multi-state jurisdiction
  • Develop standard HR data processes and builds/maintains supporting training materials
  • Assist with headcount and recruiting activity reports
  • Create reports, slides, charts, as part of HR Analytics
  • Assist with developing and deploying company’s compensation strategy for all companies and levels of the organizations
  • Conduct internal and external compensation analyses using existing systems, participating in market surveys, and using third party market data to support the design, implementation, administration, and competitiveness of company compensation programs

Job Requirements

Payroll Specialist Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or equivalent education preferred 
  • Payroll experience required, ADP Workforce Now Payroll preferred 
  • Payroll processing experience with hourly to executive level employees in 250+ employee size company 
  • Experience with fixed and variable compensation
  • Experience with HRIS systems in audited environment preferred 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint required, Access preferred
  • Strong critical thinking skills with good judgement and assertiveness to voice continuous improvement ideas
  • Attention to detail, ability to handle multiple tasks in fast-paced environment, results driven
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills   
  • Continuous learner of business and new methodologies/practices to accomplish goals
  • Self-disciplined with high sense of urgency to be a collaborative business partner
  • Ability to act with discretion and maintain confidentiality 
  • Proven relationship building and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as with various teams
