Technical Implementation Manager

Job Description 



Our client, a technology company that serves the Pharmaceuticals/Life Sciences industry, is looking for a Technical Implementation Manager to work out its Ambler, PA office.



As a Technical Implementation Manager, you own the overall technical implementation success across customers, manage initial implementation/upgrade/WebServices/SSO projects, and support other functions as necessary (e.g., Customer Success, Sales, Support, SMEs and Product Management).  The ideal candidate has a strong background in project management, technical troubleshooting, and is self-motivated with a desire to exceed customer expectations.




  • Define and implement solutions by understanding customer’s IT infrastructure, network, security, process, standards, business rules, and documentation needs
  • Coordinate and implement with Engineer to size, order, and set up environments
  • Train, define, and document custom specific configurations
  • Install and configure applications and support customers in installing 3rd party solutions, e.g. Aspera
  • Inform Sales once customer have access to Production environment to trigger billing (POD – Proof of Delivery)
  • Map data, set up data transfer to ensure data validation success
  • Assess if Adaptors are necessary and ensure they are implemented successfully
  • Serve as level 2 support when Help Desk escalates
  • Liaise between the Product Development team and the customers to influence product roadmap
  • Troubleshoot customers’ issues related to implementation and develop workarounds if necessary
  • Provide Admin user training
  • Document best practices in implementation and upgrade to ensure efficiency and continuously improve customer experience
  • Assist in the sales process by providing subject matter expertise to reduce/eliminate customers’ potential implementation anxiety/burden
  • Support IT and security questionnaires and audits related to implementation and upgrades
  • Review IT terms during the sales process and create and maintain a list of acceptable terms
  • Project manage custom upgrades, including ensuring all custom specifics work properly (e.g. adaptors, WebServices, SSO)

Job Requirements



  • BA/BS in relevant technology or business degree, or equivalent industry experience  
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in the Information Technology area
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in system integration experience at a company that delivers SaaS to large enterprise customers
  • Enterprise Application Integration expertise (such as WebServices, SSO, Aspera)
  • Experience with custom software development projects and understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC method)
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, writing, presentation and facilitation skills; strong leadership and conflict negotiation skills; able to align and motivate teams to deliver 
  • Detail-oriented, with exceptional follow-through and superior organizational skills 
  • Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team; experience working as part of a distributed team 
  • Pharmaceutical or Life Sciences industry (Highly Regulated) experience highly desired
  • Willing and able to travel (less than 10%)
