Description

Our client is seeking to add a Software Engineer to their collaborative team for an exciting development project. This person will have a high degree of emotional intelligence, strategic thinking, critical thinking, problem solving, and effective communication (written and verbal) skills. The successful candidate will join an Agile team developing core frameworks, components and services that are the foundational pieces for the suite of applications. This REMOTE position will focus on analyzing, evaluating and providing maintenance & support for LAWSON and other assigned applications. 

  • Perform software development work on a wide range of projects, from small to large.
  • Evaluate options and develop technical design.
  • Program solution and/or build enhancements to current functionality using appropriate programming language(s) and technical tools.
  • Provide input to the development of LIVE plan and support LIVE activities.
  • Install, test and implement vendor upgrades.
  • Develop project work plans to roll out new or upgraded system functionality.
  • Implement action plans to attain identified goals and objectives.
  • Participate in detailed testing of software updates and upgrades.
  • Maintain and ensure the ongoing operational and informational integrity of Lawson application.
  • Triage all Lawson support inquiries and enhancement requests including tracking for analysis of trends, enabling the identifications of users/user groups needing further assistance.
  • Responsible for ongoing on-call duties for one or more applications which generate Incidents outside of business hours. Troubleshoot and resolve system issues escalated by the Help Desk.
  • Perform other job-related duties as required.

Job Requirements

  • Must be able to work for any employer without sponsorship
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical discipline
  • 3+ years of LAWSON programming experience
  • Proficient in at least one of the following languages (Java, C#, Python) and object-oriented design principles
  • Strong technical programming skills demonstrated through prior ERP experience
  • Flexibility and eagerness to learn new technical skills to meet emerging needs
  • Understanding of SDLC
  • Excellent customer service orientation
  • Flexibility and can-do attitude
  • Knowledge and understanding of complex system operations, information flows, and sound financial practices to provide credibility for Lawson application
  • Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment; adapt to change, delays, or unexpected events
