RemX has partnered with a growing company in Farmingdale, NY to assist in their search for an Accounting Assistant. This would be a permanent, direct-hire opportunity with growth potential. After initial in-office training, this role will be remote 3 days of the week and on-site 2 days. This position will help manage the monthly invoicing for 500+ dealer and credit union subscriptions nationwide and will have regular verbal and written contact with administrative personnel, middle management, and senior executives.  The ideal candidate will need to be highly organized and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Accounting Assistant Job Description:

  • Posting cash collection, preparation of bank deposit and AR aging reports, collections, and filing
  • Receive and post all cash receipts in excess of $500k in QuickBooks
  • Maintain monthly roll-over reports updated for billing
  • Monthly billing for customer subscriptions
  • Set up new customers and maintain customer profile accounts
  • Handle processing of cancelled customers
  • Collections – consisting of calls and emails, creating statements
  • Assist with Accounts Payable
  • Maintain AR & AP files, and dealership and credit union files for contract changes
  • Maintain postage paid reports
  • Update expense allocation report for certain vendors
  • Order office supplies
  • Assist customers with questions regarding their account

Job Requirements

Accounting Assistant Requirements:

  • Associate’s degree preferred
  • 2+ years of bookkeeping/AR experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and QuickBooks (or similar accounting system)
  • Excellent organization and prioritization skills and the ability to work independently
  • Strong customer orientation, ability to construct professional email correspondence
  • Ability to be an effective team member
