Licensed Practical Nurse positions available in medical offices immediately.
Monday to Friday 8am to 4:30pm NO WEEKENDS OR HOLIDAYS REQUIRED
Documents patient history and assesses chief complaints.
Reviews charts and makes entries.
Prepares patient and room for appropriate examination procedures.
Assists providers with exams and procedures.
Administers medications, injections, immunizations, and venipunctures as ordered by physician.
Handles all abnormal and normal laboratory test results according to protocol.
Provides individual and group health education instruction and information.
Mentors and acts as a resource for health services students and departmental personnel.
Provides appropriate patient care based on age-appropriate growth and development principles.
Assists in triage, handles patient inquiries, schedules appointments, and assesses patient complaints via telephone and recommends appropriate action, according to prescribed protocol.
Performs nursing assessments and develops health care plans for patients.
Performs basic laboratory procedures.
Makes referrals to the Registered Nurse (RN), supervisor, physician, or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) for situations requiring further intervention.
Cleans, stocks, and orders supplies for the examination rooms.
Cleans and wraps instruments for sterilization.
Travels between satellite clinics.
Adheres to standard precautions.
Performs related work as required.

Knowledge of patient needs as reflected by the patient's age and the ability to provide age-appropriate care for patients served, based on knowledge of growth and development principles.
Knowledge of the principles and practices of professional nursing.
Knowledge of FHC policies and procedures and specific departmental policies and procedures.
Knowledge of the proper use and care of testing equipment.
Knowledge of the laws governing the release of medical information.
Ability to exercise judgment and initiative in providing health care to the general public.
Ability to be accurate in providing appropriate health care and information.
Ability to establish priorities and organize work.
Ability to listen and communicate orally in order to take accurate histories and make instructions for proper health care understood.
Ability to maintain confidential information.
Ability to be tactful and diplomatic to gain the trust and cooperation of patients.
Ability to tolerate stress.
Ability to operate office equipment (e.g. computer software, multi-line telephone, interpreter phones, copier, fax, and other electronic communication methods).
Skill in manual dexterity to use instruments and operate medical equipment.
Possession of a current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license issued by the Kentucky Board of Nursing OR Possession of a work permit to practice professional nursing in the State of Kentucky by endorsement.
