Seeking an experienced Ultrasound Sonographer for a specialty practice in Louisville

Schedule is Mon-Fri 8am-4:30pm

Salary range varies based on experience, $27-$36 hourly

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform ultrasounds & interpret images
• Gather data following the ultrasound and report to physician and/or nurse practitioner, answer any questions they may have
• Help patient(s) feel at ease and comfortable during the procedure by explaining each step. Providing patient education with confidence while maintaining a calm demeanor
• Assessment of patient through history, EMR data and inquiry to patient
• Quality assurance and maintenance of equipment
• Communication with physicians and other departments
• Reviewing data in EMR, completing appropriate charges (can vary according to complexity of the exam)
• Clean and sterilize instruments & equipment
• Other duties may be assigned and required as requested by practice manager

Requirements: Knowledge of equipment and computer/ultrasound software programs. Ability to maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, physicians and the general public. Ability to flexibly respond to changing demands. Knowledge of policies and practice of procedures related to infection control, environmental safety, and patient confidentiality. Proper knowledge of medical chart documentation. 

Education required:

Position requires employee to have an Associate and / or Baccalaureate Graduate of an accredited sonography program or graduate of an Allied health program i.e. R.N. or R.T.  Minimum of two years clinical experience in an OB/GYN ultrasound unit required.
