The Transporter Tech performs tasks that are directly involved with the transportation of patients within the hospital. Assists nursing with the lifting/moving of patients when necessary to ensure a smooth transport process for the customers. Transport patients in gurneys or wheelchairs in a safe and courteous manner. The Transporter's functions include positioning, transferring and transporting patients to and from various departments or locations by wheelchair, bed, or gurney.

• Other job tasks include equipment maintenance and cleaning or disinfection
• Assist with the department dispatcher as needed
• Assignments may vary between day and night shift, and participation in weekend coverage is required.

• High School Diploma
• Acute care hospital experience preferred
• Knowledge of patient care in a hospital setting preferred
• Transport and/or lift team experience preferred
• Interpersonal skills to interact diplomatically and sensitively with acutely ill patients
• CPR Certification; EMT Certification preferred
• Knowledge of basic computer skills to perform data entry and to obtain information from Hospital Systems utilizing a personal computer
• Ability to push and pull up to 100 pounds and lift up to 50 pounds
• Knowledge of proper lifting techniques sustaining a safe work environment for self and co-workers
• Adhere to healthcare regulations for Infection Control
