RemX is partnered with a client in Midlothian, VA to find an in-office Help Desk/IT Support Specialist to join their team. This is a contract to hire opportunity with benefits.

Help Desk/IT Support Job Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and respond quickly and effectively to requests received through the IT helpdesk
  • Respond to user queries by tickets, phone and email
  • Create training material for users
  • Provide technical assistance and support for incoming concerns and issues related to systems, software and hardware
  • Document internal procedures
  • Ask educated questions and listen to users to determine root cause of issues
  • Run diagnostic processes to resolve problems
  • Report significant and recurring issues to the tier-2 support team
  • Resolve technical problems with Local Area Networks, Wide Area Networks, and other systems
  • Collect feedback to determine patterns and issues such that they can be resolved, or FAQs can be provided to customer to ease in troubleshooting
  • Physical hardware repair, maintenance and cleaning

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experience
  • Prior relevant experience
  • Certifications such as Comp Tia A+ or specific training and certification
  • Understanding of TCP/IP networking and protocols
  • Experience with Active Directory and help desk system (Manage Engine)
