Description

Our client is looking for a tax clerk to assist in their tax department. The ideal candidate will be computer literate and have accuracy, analytical skills, ability to communicate with team members, problem solver, and can work independently to maintain deadlines. Attendance, punctuality, and attention to detail is a must.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with setting up ship-to addresses for branches
  • Determines taxability and exemptions are created and recorded accurately
  • Determine validity of each exemption certificates/document
  • Upload exemption certificates for exempt ship-to in our tax software
  • File business licenses for each branch with the correct jurisdiction
  • Prepare, File and Pay property tax for branches as needed
  • Assist in researching Nexus Interacts with jurisdictions in a courteous and professional manner
  • Communicates with various jurisdictions to verify and research business license, property tax, and Nexus
  • Initiates follow-up on any incomplete business license, property tax, and Nexus research and sees through completion

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • 3 to 5 years of relevant business license, property tax, Nexus research and exemption certificate/document analyzation preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries from regulatory agencies, internal and external customers.
  • Ability to use relevant computer system applications (which may include spreadsheets, word processors, databases, etc.) at a basic level. 
  • Organization skills is a must.
