RemX is currently searching for an Accounting Professional who will be responsible for payroll processing, accounts receivable and payable and maintenance of general ledger accounts, financial reporting, and ensuring accounting transactions comply with US GAAP.

 

Position Highlights

  • Payrate: $24.00-28.00 based on experience
  • Location: East End, Corner of Shelbyville Road and Hurstbourne, ONSITE only!
  • Full time, Monday through Friday with flexible start time between 8a and 9a daily. 

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Accounting

  • Prepares monthly financial statements including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flows with the highest quality, reliability, and accuracy.
  •  Establishes management reporting to support internal and external customer needs.  Serves as the primary source for accounting treatment of accruals, expenses, and complex accounting transactions.
  • Facilitates the monthly close process, including reconciliations, researching and resolving discrepancies, and analysis of company accounts.
  • Maintains account workpapers and the integrity of the financial reporting process and financial controls.
  • Creates and updates written policies and procedures over accounting and financial reporting processes.
  • Participates in company-wide projects involving financial reporting processes, accounting software, or operational needs supported by the Finance department.
  • Assists in the preparation of sales and use tax returns and property tax filings.  Assists in the preparation of tax workpapers, research, and related tasks, as needed

Payroll

  • Ensure timely processing of payroll and all required payroll taxes.
  • Manage the onboarding, retention, and termination process for all employees
  • Administer and maintain employee benefits, including enrollments, group medical/dental insurance, retirement plan, workers compensation insurance, and attendance records.  Maintain personnel records for all employees, updated job descriptions, all legal forms, and benefit election data.
  • Prepare and maintain employment contracts and stipend agreements
  • Responsible for areas of compliance as they relate to Human Resources. This includes but is not limited to Immigration, ADA, COBRA, FMLA, FLSA, HIPAA, ERISA, GINA, EEO, and USERRA compliance.
  • Create communication pieces for employees and managers regarding their responsibilities with compliance issues.
  •  Complete, track, and/or file all compliance documentation accordingly.  Design and present HR and payroll information at new employee orientations for faculty/staff members.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual tax and audit forms and submissions.
  • Participate in Workers Compensation team and related processes
  • Act as main point of contact for divisional employees on program, policy, and employee relation matters
  • Maintain employee files/ paperwork including record retention and destruction
  • Facilities benefit changes and informational updates
  • Answers HR and benefit questions.
  • Maintain a list of frequently asked questions o Update OSHA and labor law postings

Accounts Payable/Receivable

  • Processing and datä entry of invoices
  • Processing and remittance of checks daily/weekly/monthly
  • Problem resolution of incoming invoices and statements.
  • Process and posts customer payments by recording cash, checks, and credit card transactions
  • Prepare, process, and post bills and invoices
  • Communicate with customers, sales force, operations, and internally as required  Resolve any past due or billing issues with customers and address ongoing customer complaints of billing or services rendered

 

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. Minimum 4-6 years progressively responsible accounting/financial reporting work experience.
  • Sage accounting software, and advanced spreadsheet skills are required.
  • Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines are essential.
  • Organization, problem-solving, and analytical skills will also allow a candidate to be successful in this position.

Physical Requirements:

  • Limited lifting, no greater than 30 pounds in the movement of office materials and equipment.
  • Hand and finger dexterity for use of keyboard skills; ability to use video display terminal and telephonic equipment in course of work.

Environmental Conditions:

  • Performs duties in an indoor administrative office environment.
