OCEAN IMPORT/EXPORT SPECIALIST

TYPE: Contract to Hire; first shift

YOUR DUTIES AS AN OCEAN IMPORT/EXPORT SPECIALIST WILL INCLUDE:

• Manage end to end supply chains for major accounts
• Work to minimize detention and demurrage by utilizing vessel reconciliation
• Review invoices for correct contract rates
• Resolve EDI issues
• Create reports for customers on special projects
• Update internal reports regarding container location and cost accruals
• Ensure compliance with customs regulations
• Track and trace ocean shipments and update clients on any delays or changes
• Work with other team members to ensure smooth delivery of shipments
• Complete export booking requests including all relevant paperwork

HOW YOU ARE QUALIFIED:

• High school diploma or equivalent is required; Bachelor’s Degree is preferred
• 2 or more years of experience in ocean import or ocean export is required
• Proficient in MS Excel; must be able to use V-lookups, Pivot Tables, Macros and Formulas efficiently
• Excellent communication skills, the ability to work under pressure, and to work independently
