HR Generalist- Payroll & Benefits

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Must effectively carry out essential duties and responsibilities of this position in a manner that consistently exemplifies company's mission and values in a positive manner.

 

1)    Payroll Administration

  1. Is the payroll expert. Makes recommendations for payroll related policies. Provides training as needed (i.e. Managers, staff) to ensure compliance and full utilization of tools.
  2. Responsible for timely, accurately, and compliantly processing bi-weekly payroll. Audit and process payroll documents. Process employee data for new hires, changes, additional earnings, etc.,
  3. Process employee Time & Attendance data to payroll and reconcile variances. Approve and release time in the time system.
  4. Prepares and maintain employee files, assuring accuracy, compliance, and confidentiality.
  5. Maintains and accurately records vacation and sick time.
  6. Develops in depth understanding of payroll software and HRIS. Creates reports on demand.
  7. Assists employees registering for or resetting access to online portal,
  8. Responsible for ensuring timely and accurate biweekly payroll submission.
  9. Responsible for ensuring all timecard entries are accurate and entries are processed according to state and federal wage and hour compliance.

 

  1. Benefits Administration
    1. Administers all employee & volunteer benefit programs such as medical, dental and vision.
    2. Employee Benefit On-boarding: Provide benefit presentation for all new hires during on-boarding process. Distribute enrollment materials and determines eligibility.
    3. Employee Service: Assists employees with questions regarding benefit enrollments and status changes. Enrolls employees with carriers and process life changes.
    4. Employee Education: Works with HR benefit partners for escalated support needs, including but not limited to plan design, coverage, and COBRA. Ensures that employee forms and resources are properly updated through the benefits portal and updates HRIS.
    5. Data Integrity: Ensures the accuracy of all benefit enrollments and provide vendors with accurate eligibility information. Updates HRIS database with new and changing information; ensures accuracy and integrity of information.
    6. Employee  Separation:  Properly  record,  track, and  administer  the  steps needed to comply with COBRA law and appropriately deliver continuation of employee benefits.
