Local attorney in the Cumberland area is looking for a part time Paralegal to assist them for a roughly 6 month assignment. Depending on tasks required for week, hours could range from 10-30+. Client has advised deposition heavy weeks in May/July will be where associate can expect the 30+ hours/week. Applicants should have experience in Civil Litigation, with a preference for experience specifically in the state of GA. • M-F, days and hours will vary depending on case load
• Roughly 10-30 hours/week
• 6 month assignment
• Pay range of $25-$45/hr. based on experience

Responsibilities:

• Conduct research to support legal proceedings
• Assist with the drafting and reviewing of legal documents
• Investigate facts to help in the negotiation of legal disputes
• Monitor and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations 
• Record and store client information
• Additional tasks, including deposition assistance, etc. as needed

• Paralegal certificate or similar course of study
• 10+ years civil litigation experience (Georgia preferred)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Westlaw, Relativity, and other document review and management tools
• Responsible, efficient, mature, and self-directed
• Strong communication skills and good editor
• Experience reviewing discovery production for relevance, responsiveness, and privilege
• Experience producing documents in discovery
• Experience preparing deposition outlines, deposition summaries, deposition exhibits, and deposition notebooks
• Experience assisting with depositions
• Experience preparing witness notebooks and demonstrative exhibits
• Experience with trial preparation and trial presentation
