Pay Rate: $15–$17 per hour

Schedule:

• Monday & Tuesday: 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Thursday: 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM
• Friday: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Position Overview

Seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Specimen Processor to support laboratory operations. This position is critical in maintaining departmental production goals, ensuring consistent hourly specimen flow, and handling patient medical records with accuracy and confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, identify, label, and process specimens in accordance with established protocols.
• Ensure accurate labeling of specimen containers and associated client-submitted materials.
• Enter demographic data, transcribe, and review specimen information within the laboratory information system.
• Identify and resolve specimen-related issues, escalating concerns to appropriate personnel when necessary.
• Develop an understanding of specimen types related to various client-requested tests.
• Adhere to core values, safety regulations, and compliance policies.
• Meet production targets to maintain consistent specimen flow (minimum 28–35 cases per hour).
• Report workstation malfunctions and submit HELP tickets as needed.
• Disinfect workstations before and after use, ensuring a clean and organized workspace.
• Identify and troubleshoot requisitions that fail to download or contain missing information.

Qualifications & Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proficiency in typing (must pass a typing test).
• Strong command of English (reading, writing, and speaking).
• Prior experience in laboratory processing or data entry is preferred (0–2 years).
