Medical Assistant
Location: Mesa, AZ
Department: Back Office | Reports to: Clinical Supervisor
Position Overview:
Join our team as a Medical Assistant, where you’ll support both
clinical and administrative functions to deliver exceptional patient
key role in preparing patients, assisting during exams, managing
documentation, and ensuring smooth office operations.

Key Responsibilities
- Daily Operations & Patient Flow
- Open and close the back office per CVAM protocol
- Greet patients warmly in person and by phone
- Escort patients to exam rooms, prepare them for visits, and ensure proper gowning and setup
- Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant environment (safety-sensitive role)
Clinical Support
- Obtain vital signs and patient histories
- Assist during examinations and minor procedures
- Draw blood, perform ECGs, administer medications, and collect lab specimens
- Prepare and sterilize medical instruments; dispose of contaminated materials
- Support prescription refills and call-ins as directed
Administrative Duties
- Document all encounters and procedures accurately in patient records
- Complete billing documentation and insurance forms
- Manage the provider’s desktop tasks daily (within 24 hours)
- Respond to portal messages and triage requests
- Maintain and restock exam rooms and sample medication cupboards
Communication & Education
- Educate patients on medications and diet instructions
- Respond to patient questions with clarity and professionalism
- Maintain confidentiality and support HIPAA compliance
- Contribute to team communication and problem-solving
Professionalism & Development
- Participate in new hire and annual training programs
- Stay current on best practices and certifications
- Take ownership of additional duties and opportunities for team support

Qualifications
Education & Certification
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Completion of a Medical Assistant program from an accredited school
- Current BLS certification
- Certified or Registered Medical Assistant credential (required and must be maintained)
Experience
- 6+ months in a clinical or medical office setting preferred
- Front office or other healthcare practice experience considered

- Proficiency in medical terminology and clinical workflows
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities

Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 15 lbs
- Frequent walking, bending, reaching, and standing
- Occasional need for PPE use and patient mobility assistance
- Adequate vision, hearing, and speaking to perform essential duties
