Description
IMMEDIATE opening for a skilled and compassionate Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing blood sampling and specimen collection with a focus on patient comfort and safety. You will work in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate laboratory procedures and high-quality patient service. *** NOTE ***: This is part-time Mon – Fri 8:00AM – 1:00PM (25 hours per week).
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws for laboratory testing.
- Collect, label, and process specimens according to established protocols.
- Maintain aseptic technique to prevent contamination during specimen collection.
- Ensure proper handling and transportation of specimens to the laboratory.
- Document all procedures accurately in patient records and laboratory systems.
- Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures and alleviate concerns.
- Adhere to safety guidelines and infection control protocols at all times.
- Assist in maintaining laboratory equipment and supplies, ensuring readiness for use.
- Stay updated on medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and laboratory procedures.

- 1+ year experience in blood sampling, venipuncture, and specimen collection processing
- Familiarity with laboratory environments and hospital settings is preferred
- Strong understanding of aseptic techniques and infection control practices
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to phlebotomy and laboratory testing
- Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills are essential for accurate specimen handling
- Certification in phlebotomy or relevant training is preferred but not mandatory
- Highly preferred: Oncology experience
