Title: Medical Office Administrator – Temp| 2 to 3 months – Onsite Portland

Type of Hire: Temp| 2 to 3 months –

The current office administrator is scheduled to go on maternity leave in June. Our associate will start at the end of April to train while the office administrator is still there.

Start Date: 04/29/24

Pay Rate: $19 to $23 an hour (depending on experience)

Location:   Portland, OR 97225

Schedule: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Mon – Fri (one hour lunch)

Responsibilities:

• Process medical insurance and prior authorizations.
• Explain insurance policies to patients and answer benefit related questions.
• Manage EMR (Electronic Medical Records).
• Greet patients and customers.
• Assist patients with intake forms while ensuring accuracy and completion.
• Answer incoming calls and compose emails.
• Check patients in and out for appointments.
• Schedule appointments.
• Collect and process coinsurance payments (credit or cash).

Requirements:

• 2 + years of medical office experience.
• In depth understanding of medical insurance: able to explain benefits, copays, and deductions to patients.
• Able to process prior authorizations.
• EMR experience.
• Customer service, communication, attention to detail, and organization skills.
• Friendly attitude and dedicated work ethic.
• High School Diploma or GED.
