Registered Nurse (RN) – Night Shift

Behavioral Health / Crisis Stabilization | Durham, NC

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a night-shift role in a behavioral health crisis stabilization setting. This position supports adults experiencing acute mental health and substance use crises and is ideal for nurses who thrive in high-acuity, fast-paced environments.

This is a long-term contract opportunity with strong intent to convert to permanent employment.

Position Details

• Schedule: Night Shift, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
  • Rotating: Week 1 (3 nights) / Week 2 (4 nights)
• Pay Rate: $36.00–$39.00/hour
• Retention Bonus: $12,000 after conversion (paid in $3,000 increments every 6 months)
• Location: Durham, NC

Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care for individuals in acute behavioral health or substance use crisis
• Conduct assessments and monitor psychiatric and medical conditions
• Administer medications and monitor effectiveness/side effects
• Respond to crisis situations using trauma-informed de-escalation techniques
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and external partners
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation

Qualifications

• Active NC RN license or compact license
• Minimum 1 year of behavioral health nursing experience
• Knowledge of psychiatric medications and crisis intervention
• Ability to work nights and rotating schedules
