Job Opening: Quality Auditor – Mortgage Compliance exp- $25/hr – hybrid remote San Diego

My client, a financial/mortgage company is looking for a Correspondent Quality Auditor,  who will be performing  quality assurance reviews to ensure mortgage loan processes and documents comply with applicable requirements, guidelines, and business standards.

Pay rate: $25/hr

Location:   Training onsite and then hybrid or remote. Must live in San Diego

Type:   contract 12 months, can be perm after.

Start Date: ASAP

Schedule: M-F, 7:30am-4 or 8-4:30pm PST (flexible, possible hybrid after some months)

Functions:

·        Pre-funding issue resolution — Identify and correct errors in loan files to ensure full pre-funding compliance.

·        Mortgage purchase review — Validate loan accuracy, completeness, and adherence to investor, regulatory, and internal standards.

·        Risk and fraud assessment — Perform risk reviews to detect omissions, escalate potential fraud, and flag compliance violations.

·        Documentation verification — Confirm risk-related data is properly documented and corrections/exceptions follow required procedures.

·        Process improvement — Recommend workflow enhancements and stop-gaps to reduce errors and increase efficiency.

·        Compliance system input — Review loan data and enter required information into electronic compliance systems.

Qualifications:

• 1 yr + compliance / auditing in the mortgage industry experience required
• Overall Knowledge consumer mortgage lending process (loan inception through closing), various types of mortgage products, and the supporting documentation that affects consumer mortgage lending preferred.
• Prior experience working with investor and third-party manager requirements preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities; strong detail orientation and highly organized.
• Works with a strong sense of urgency and responsiveness.
• ComplianceEase system experience a plus.
