About the Opportunity

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Piping Estimator to join their growing team in Matthews, NC. This role is responsible for preparing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for industrial and commercial piping projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong takeoff, pricing, and bid preparation experience and enjoy collaborating with project teams, vendors, and subcontractors to develop winning proposals.

Responsibilities

• Review and evaluate RFQs, RFPs, bid packages, drawings, and specifications.
• Perform detailed piping takeoffs and develop complete project estimates.
• Analyze construction documents and identify scope requirements, discrepancies, and potential risks.
• Generate RFIs to clarify missing or conflicting information within project documents.
• Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing.
• Prepare labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor cost analyses.
• Develop bid clarifications, exclusions, and proposal documentation.
• Ensure estimates are completed accurately and within required deadlines.
• Maintain estimating databases and assist with labor and material cost updates.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Participate in project turnover meetings and support operations teams after project award.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of estimating experience in industrial piping, minimum $8-10 million projects.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, scopes of work, and contract documents.
• Experience performing detailed labor and material takeoffs.
• Knowledge of estimating techniques, budgeting, and cost control practices.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with internal teams and external partners.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Compensation: $100,000 – $120,000 annually, depending on experience.
