In your day to day, you may…

  • Fill prescription items, as permitted by the State Board of Pharmacy, packaging medications for dispensing and for delivery, meeting the accuracy and productivity standards of the pharmacy.
  • Participate in the periodic inventory of the pharmacy.
  • Check in drugs and supplies, stock shelves and remove out-of-date items from the inventory.
  • Prepare medications including emulsions, liquids, powders and ointments, which may include non-sterile compounding.
  • Process returned medications from the facility for credit or destruction.

Job Requirements:

Requirements:

  • Must be a Certified Pharm Tech and licensed in the State of Texas
  • A minimum of 1 year experience of recent Pharmacy Tech and data entry experience
  • Experience in a pharmacy setting and with knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Ability to operate a computer; ability to recognize and identify medications.
  • Detail oriented; goal oriented, team player, effective oral communication.

Patient Service Representative Responsibilities:

  • Schedules patient appointments; including follow-up and rescheduling of missed appointments.
  • Greets patient and obtains, verifies, updates and compiles all registration and insurance information required.
  • Answers phone and provides excellent customer service to all patients.
  • Prepares patient medical record for new patients and updates information for existing patients.
  • Reviews patient records for completion and returns to record room.
  • Contacts patients by telephone or mail regarding appointments, insurance information and/or payment issues.

Description:

 Innovative technology leader company that helps veterinarians grow their practices is looking of a Pharmacy Technician, under general supervision of a licensed pharmacist, to fulfill medication for animal consumption.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Performs duties assigned by a licensed pharmacist – Areas of work are checked routinely for maintenance of quality control. 

• Work is conducted in accordance with generally accepted standards of practice following departmental procedures and policies. 

• Read and interpret veterinarian orders received in pharmacy and transcribe same onto a pharmacy computer medication profile. 

• Prepare in accordance with standards of pharmacy practice compounds for use under direct pharmacist supervision. 

• Prepare in accordance with pharmacy law and standards of pharmacy practice, prescriptions to be dispensed after pharmacist approval. 

• Check and remove outdated meds on a routine basis to ensure that no deteriorated meds are in stock. Keep appropriate records.

 

Qualifications:

• Pharmacy Technician experience preferred. 

• High School diploma or GED. 

• Registered as a Pharmacy Technician in AZ

• CPhT Certification preferred.

• Perform basic math sufficient to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measurement correctly and consistently. 

• Exhibit punctuality and low absenteeism. 

• Knowledge of mail order pharmacy preferred.
